Nerding out with Harry Potter Post-its

I was hoping my next post would be all the drawings I did that were inspired by my North Carolina vacation, but I'm not ready for that yet. There's a lot to organize, and right now the only drawings I did are so rough and weird that I don't think anyone would be able to tell what they were. SO!! Instead, here are some HP post-its from before I left LA.

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasely)

Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood)

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger...holy crap, this girl's likeness is hard to get!!)

Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown)

Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange)

(not looking so healthy today)

I drew a whole bunch more Bonnies too. I'm not sure I really got her look down, but I like these anyhow. It took a while for me to warm up to her in the role of Ginny, but I think she's really interesting now. She definitely has a pretty and unconventional look that is hard (but fun) to draw.

Check out how pretty it was in North Carolina...this was taken from the car, as the sun was setting and all the light was shining on the leaves. So nice!

See ya later...

P.S. Expect more HP crap once the DVD is out! Sorry for non-nerd readers out there! >__<;

Post-its from work, cute and Halloween-ish

Yes!! I am finally escaping LA! Not for good, but for a week. I'm going somewhere pretty where I will get to run around outside and be happy. I am really gonna miss my cats. I gotta get this post up quick though cause I have to get to bed. I'm getting up at 3:30 tomorrow morning! Arrrghhh...

Anyhow, here are some post-its from work. Post-its are perfect for taking a break from working. I find taking a break from work-drawing to draw for myself is more relaxing than taking a coffee break or anything else.

I really wanted to do some Halloween drawings, but no time...here are some less cutesy post-its, though.

Friend Christine on a very tiny post-it. Christine is taking care of my kitties while I'm away. Thank you Christine!!

Dead-ish lady. Too bad!

The Uggo twins

Three weird looking women.

We're doing another month of Halloween Skadi comics, only this time it's another ongoing story called "Skadi Goes to Hell." This story also stars a new succubus character...here is the original design for her. She changed some for the comic, though. So far 2 pages are up. Click here to see the first page!

I'll be gone for a while, but I'll come back with new drawings!

How to make a Luna trap...

...or a "noonytrap", as I like to call them.

Click to see better! This is me and Luna's morning ritual.

Cheesy! My newest favorite thing is making little stories on post-its. I hope you like this one because I will be making more. Here are some more cat doodles...

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I really like this one actually!

This drawing looks like how I drew 6 years ago! Weird.

I did some vanity post-its too...

I'm going on a vacation to the other side of the US in 2 weeks, and this is my exploring outfit! I am wearing pants for once!

More vanity...I cut my bangs and drew a weird little self portrait.

While we are on the subject of cats and vanity, check out these cards I got for my birthday last month, featuring my two kitties!! Tara did this first one, which incorporates my two favorite things...kitties and hillbillies! Soooo rad...

And here's one from Nico! I like that he caricatured my weird looking cats, and designed an outfit for me that I would really wear in real life.

Ben
made this super gorgeous card for me too, and I was lucky enough to receive it in person! It's HUGE!!! Huge and pretty and I love it!

I'm super busy with work and Skadi and preparing for my trip, but I'll definitely be back to post some more crap before I leave. Thanks everyone!

***P.S.
This Wednesday starts a special 5-part Halloween Skadi story on Dumm Comics, so check it out!

Hillbilly post-its

I've been working on a personal project in my spare time for a while now...I'm not that far into it, but I'm really really excited about the idea. It'll be a long time before it's finished, but in the meantime, here are some doodles of the main characters:

These are all done with my current favorite art supplies, post-its, ball point pen, and dried out highlighters. Sometimes the funnest drawing utensils can be found on a regular old work desk. :)

I like these, I hope you will too. I always like my doodly wonky stuff more than the drawings I labor over. :)

That's all for now, at least regarding my new pet project! I wonder if their personalities show through in these.

And in case you missed it over the holiday weekend, I have another print for sale:

Pretty girls of Star Trek TOS, all arranged together on 11 x 14 quality cardstock, just for you! I'm very happy with how these turned out, so please take a look at my Etsy Store!

Thanks everyone!

even MORE Galactically Hot Women of Star Trek

Maybe eventually I will give every girl in this Flickr group a post-it drawing of her own...

Hot Klingon lady

This one is cute but a bit funny in the face. :)

I kinda want to compile these into one thing.

To make this I had to eliminate 2 drawings, which is too bad, but they were pretty wonky. Should I pretty this up and make it a print to sell? Speaking of which, thanks to everyone who's bought a print. I know now is a terrible time to buy art (or anything for that matter), so I really appreciate it!

I'm sleepy! I hope you like these. Goodnight!

Miss Pas Touche

I can't write too much tonight cause I gotta get back to work, but I wanted to post some of the "Miss Pas Touche" fan art I did a couple weeks ago when I bought the comics. I am totally crazy about these books. The story is a murder mystery that takes place in a 1930's brothel. I was able to understand the story pretty well even though it was in French, but there is also a translated version you can find on Amazon. Here is the second book (I think two are available now, and I've heard of a third one coming out):

I am so envious of artists who can make books like this. It'd be my dream job to do this kind of thing. I hope I get the time someday to learn about storytelling and comic making.

OK anyhow, here's some fan doodles!

The main character, Blanche, is really really fun to draw. She's very cute but a bit neurotic and shrill. Her little friend Annette is fun to draw too, but I can't get her body type quite right.

I got artsy fartsy and drew these on some left over tissue paper.

More post-its!! My new favorite canvas.

That's all for now. Nothing too sparkly or shiny. I've been working a lot, and I've run out of old doodles to post, so I'm not sure when the next time I'll get to draw is. :( Hopefully I'll be able to post more about the cool comics I'm into soon, and share some more fan art and doodles.

Thanks for coming back guys!
