World's third-tallest skyscraper opened in China - Jin Mao Tower

Total investment in the 101-story, 492-meter-high landmark project, located in Pudong's Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, amounts to over eight billion Yuan (1.16 billion U.S. dollars).

A total of 4, 000 visitors, natives and foreigners, flocked to the Shanghai World Financial Center on its first opening day to have a sightseeing on Saturday, the Oriental Morning Post reported.

The third-tallest in the world after Burj Dubai and Taipei 101.

Unused trollop designs

Last year I was asked to design some burlesque/stripper types for a secret project that I can't tell you about...obviously I can't post the actual designs I eventually did, but when I heard about the project I rushed to get some practice ideas out, and these are some of them!
Obviously these aren't the most sophisticated drawings in the world, but I like them because they're loose and loopy. I felt really inspired by the project I was going to be designing for, but as it hadn't started yet, and I wasn't given the details for the characters, there was no pressure. That kind of situation usually results in drawings I'm actually ok with!
I had no idea at that point what kind of designs I was going to be asked for, so it was fun to come up with different ways the characters might look.
In the drawing above I was trying to simplify different girl shapes.

I like these two color ones best. I'm gonna do that weird fly-away hair thing more often! :)

Two amazing fellas and a cool girlie too

Since the cartoon blogging community is pretty small, I'm sure everyone reading this already knows these guys, but I want to bring 'em up anyhow!! David Gemmill and Pedro Vargas are two amazing cartoonists that I really look up too. Not only are they both really good artists, but they both put in time and effort to make their own animation. To me this is so cool...I can barely get one page of a comic completed, let alone an entire cartoon.

You gotta check out this latest David cartoon- it's so good!! Funny drawings and dancing girls galore! You better not click it if you're at work though, or if you're offended by naked ladies (even if you are, click it anyhow! It'll put hair on your chest).

click me for cartoon fun!

Also, David's blog has more amazing animation on it, as well as funny drawings and social commentary!

Ok...now check out this super appealing and funny still from Pedro's short that he's working on:

I REALLY can't wait till this comes out...I LOVE this guy's style. Click on the drawing to go to his blog! On top of being able to animate, Pedro paints, has great designs...he even designs text well (search "braineaters" on the blog). There's such a range of amazing stuff there.

Really, both these blogs deserve a full reading if you haven't already been through them. Both these guys must be really hard workers, as well as being extremely creative.

Also, we've got a whole month of Tara Billinger as our guest artist on Dumm Comics! She's got a crazy and cool style, so check it out and let her know you like her stuff!

And come back soon, I'm putting up burlesque/stripper girl drawings next week!

weeeee!
